The Union of Bulgarian Millers (UBM) is a national voluntary association of mills and service companies in the field of milling and food industry, which protects and represents the interests of its members and the industry as a whole. Through its activities, the Union contributes to the development and strengthening of the sector.
UBM is a member of the European Association of Flourmillers, which provides us with modern, up-to-date and useful information about the industry, actively participates in the development of regulations and protects the interests of the milling industry at the international level.
The Union maintains contact with state administration, actively participates in the development of normative documents at the national level on the milling and food industry; is a member of the nationally recognized employers’ organizations, which provide an opportunity to ask questions to the Council of Ministers; negotiates agreements with the nationally recognized trade unions.
The Union provides an opportunity for consultation with an expert under Measure 123 “Adding value to agricultural and forestry products” – improving the overall activity, economic efficiency and competitiveness of enterprises in the food processing and forestry industry and since 2012 under Measure121 “Modernization of agricultural holdings – improving the competitiveness of agriculture in the Republic of Bulgaria through restructuring and development of the available material capacities in the farms and encouraging the introduction of new technical solutions.
Offers developed guides for introduction of good practices in the respective economic activity, as well as models of systems for risk analysis and rules for control and self-control in order to ensure safety at work and quality of the products of the offered services.
Participates in the development of standards and technical requirements for products and services, ensuring good manufacturing practice and compliance with international and European standards.
Assists in establishing business relationships and promoting the products and services of its members.
